This camp is designed to help a range of players take their game to the next level. Beginning players develop skills and learn basic team concepts to prepare them to be strong players in their elementary or middle school programs. Intermediate players gain confidence in their abilities and learn to play more instinctually so they become leaders on their teams. Advanced players learn to evaluate their game and maximize their strengths so they are the most effective players possible.

About the Director: Eamon Thornton, Varsity Lacrosse Coach

Coach Thornton is starting his fourth year as the head coach at McCallie after leading the team to a TN DII-AAA State Championship in 2022. Thornton graduated from McCallie in 2002, having played both football and lacrosse, and went on to play lacrosse at Hampden-Sydney College where he earned DIII Academic All-American and graduated in 2006 with a double major in English and Philosophy. Thornton coached in England, Baltimore, and Atlanta before returning to the Ridge in 2011. In that time, he has coached lacrosse, football, and even wrestling for a season at all three levels, middle school, JV, and varsity. In addition, he teaches English in the high school and serves as a dorm faculty member in North Hutch. Thornton lives on campus with his wife and three children, Luke, Adelyn, and Noah, and their Aussie Shepard Joey. For fun, Thornton and his family love to travel, hike, play sports, and play on campus with the big boys.
